Tomorrow in the Battle Think of Me

The War Series - Print 1

This was the first print in the War Series. Printed in 1999 on the cusp of the millenium - a time to think of the world in a historical perspective, and wonder what they were thinking in 999. "Tomorrow in the battle think on me" is a quote from Shakespeare's Richard 111. The spanish novelist Javier Marais used the translation of this title for one of his books, "Manana en la batalla piensa en mi" which I then used in this print. Phillip II of Spain is at the centre.
